Computers store temporary folders about the websites you have visited.

If you do not want anyone to be able to see that you have visited this site there are 3 things you can do to help keep it private

 

How To Delete Temporary Internet Files

Click on TOOLS and then click on the tab marked GENERAL in the box that appears.

Go to the section that says TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES

Click the box marked DELETED FILES

A box will appear and you need to tick the box that says DELETE ALL OFFLINE FILES

Once you have done this then click OK

 

How To Delete History

In Internet Explorer Click on TOOLS and click the tab marked GENERAL in the box that appears

Go to the section that says HISTORY

Click on the CLEAR HISTORY button

A box will appear asking you if you want to delete all items in the history - click YES

 

How To Delete Cookies

Click on TOOLS and then click the tab marked GENERAL in the box that appears

Go to the section that says TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES

Click the box marked DELETE COOKIES then click OK

 

Please Note: The above procedures are for an XP computer using Internet Explorer 6

 

In VISTA which uses Internet Explorer 7, you can do all of the above by going to the Windows

icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, click on it and then choose CONTROL PANEL

 

Click on NETWORK AND INTERNET and then choose INTERNET OPTIONS

 

In the GENERAL tab locate BROWSING HISTORY and click the DELETE option

 

A new box will then appear where you can choose what you would like to delete

 

If you prefer, you can use the DELETE ALL... option to be 100% sure all information is removed
